What we specialize in

Workplace assessment for a physiotherapy practice involves evaluating the physical demands, hazards and ergonomic risks present in the workplace, to identify any issues that may be contributing to musculoskeletal disorders or injuries among employees.

The assessment is typically conducted by a physiotherapist or ergonomist, who will visit the workplace and observe the employees in their daily tasks, in order to identify areas where adjustments or improvements could be made to reduce the risk of injury.

The assessment generally includes an examination of the following elements:

  1. Workstations and equipment: The physiotherapist will evaluate the design and layout of workstations, including the placement of equipment and tools, to ensure that they are ergonomically sound and meet the needs of the employees.
  2. Posture and movement: The physiotherapist will observe employees as they work, to identify any postures or movements that may be causing strain or injury.
  3. Load handling: The physiotherapist will evaluate the weight and size of items being handled by employees, and the frequency and duration of handling, to identify any potential hazards.
  4. Work organization and environment: The physiotherapist will consider factors such as lighting, temperature, and noise levels in the workplace, and evaluate the organization of work tasks and schedules to identify any potential stressors.
  5. Employee health and well-being: The physiotherapist will consider the overall health and well-being of employees, including any previous injuries or conditions that may be impacting their ability to perform their work safely.

Based on the findings of the assessment, the Rameetse Physio will provide recommendations for improvements and adjustments to reduce the risk of injury, such as changes to workstations, equipment, or work procedures. And then also provide training on safe work practices and injury prevention to employees.

It is important to note that the physiotherapy workplace assessment is a process, so it should be regularly reviewed and updated to ensure the safety and well-being of the employees.
